The Great Movies – Spreading the Word

The Severna Park Voice published a nice article today about our Great Movies series at the Severna Park Library. I had previously posted here about our first event, a showing of Casablanca, which was both well attended and well received. Thanks to Dylan Roche for helping us spread the word about classic movies and their relevance today.

Dr. Strangelove

My co-worker Julia and I have big plans for the future of the series. Next up, Julia will be introducing, screening, and leading a discussion of Dr. Strangelove, Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) on Thursday, February 4 at 6:30pm at the Severna Park Library. (I can’t wait for this!)

As Julia mentioned in the article, we want to include a lot of diversity in our film choices, covering several genres and styles. Here’s a bit of a visual representation of what you can expect from The Great Movies in the coming months:
