I don’t know if this is true in your neck of the woods, but today is Insanity Day around here. That’s right: it’s the last day of school. Prepare yourselves…
We’re busy decorating the library today and kids have already been busting down the doors since Monday, so if your life is as crazy as I think it is right now, you might need some good news. Here are a few distractions to help you keep your sanity (if you have any left by this point):
First, Derek and I recently discussed three noir-related comics over at The Comics Alternative Podcast. If you’re into noir, I think you’ll really enjoy these books. Give us a listen and let me know what you think.
Second, there’s a pretty good sale this month on several Criterion Collection Blu-rays at Barnes and Noble. Many of the Criterion titles are 40% off, but if you spend $50 or more (and how hard is that do to?) you’ll get another 20% off.
I picked up these today, which comes to (with tax) about $17 per disc. Of course, the 50% off B&N Criterion sale is just around the corner, but for me this was a slightly better deal.
Finally, I can’t believe I missed this, the Order in the Court! Classic Courtroom Movies Blogathon! I love courtroom movies and am shocked that I missed this event and that there are so many films on this list that I haven’t seen.
So, avoid the madness of the last day of school. Take advantage of these podcasts/sales/events!
Thanks for listening!
