With so many great books on movies out there, I still feel like I just scratched the surface. Please let me know the books on movies you enjoyed this year!

  1. I’m not smart at all – that’s why I read! 🙂 The book on German Expressionism was tremendous – will need to read it again and see more of the films mentioned in it. I really enjoyed Five Came Back! I wish Harris would crank out the books faster. His book Pictures at a Revolution was also great. I’ll have to check out The Mirage Factory – thanks!

  2. You must be a real smarty pants after reading all these fab books. I’ll be looking for the one on German Expressionism, which is something I’d love to understand more. Two books I’ve read recently, and really benefitted from, are Five Came Back and The Mirage Factory – the latter being more a history of Los Angeles, but had interesting movie history too.
