September was quite a month… It all started in Part I and ends here:
The Small Press Expo (SPX) last weekend was a real blast, but I still haven’t completely recovered from it. Derek and I had a great time there, but we also interviewed and spoke with a lot of people and discussed the Ignatz Awards at length. Derek did the majority of the interviews including a great interview with Bill Griffith about his new book Invisible Ink: My Mother’s Secret Love Affair with a Famous Cartoonist and more.
We’ve still got one week left in September, but if I don’t get started now, I’ll never finish. I had a big weekend at SPX last weekend and you’ll see some of those books here and many more next time. Let’s get started…
I’m pleased – overjoyed – ECSTATIC – to announce that the Anne Arundel County Public Library system (where I work) is the recipient of the 2015 Small Press Expo Graphic Novel Gift Program. AACPL will receive a gift of graphic novels worth $6,000. Our collection is honored to receive this wonderful gift and I can assure the givers that these books will be read and treasured by many. As an AACPL librarian and lover of comics, I am super excited about this news!
