It’s Never Too Early to Get Scared

I do own a calendar and I occasionally look at it, so I acknowledge the fact that we’re still in September, but as soon as the weather even starts to cool off (as it did today), I can’t help thinking about horror movies.

I’ve already begun a list of films I want to watch between now and Halloween. In fact, you might say I started things off last night watching Roger Corman’s Fall of the House of Usher (1960), a film I hope to review soon.

This year, I have several films I want to revisit, such as

The Brood (1979)

Psycho (1960)

The Pit and the Pendulum (1961)

Halloween (1978)

The Thing (1982)

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

Val

and just about any film from the Val Lewton Horror Collection (Click on the link to see the movies in this set)

As well as films I’ve never seen:

The Black Cat (1934)

Kill, Baby… Kill! (1964)

In the Mouth of Madness (1994)

Pulse (2001)

Kill List (2011)

Berberian Sound Studio (2012)

and any Argento film you’d like to recommend.

So what’s on your list? Recommendations? Favorites you watch every year? First-time choices?
