Ah, it’s finally here… Deception and betrayal are in the air, shadows lengthen and encroach into your dwellings (hopefully through venetian blinds), you begin talking like a tough guy and maybe even go out and buy a fedora. Mostly you watch great film noir and share those experiences with your friends. That’s what I’m here to do.
My goal for Noirvember is this: to select at least 30 movies to watch and review for you here. As much as possible, I’m going to limit myself to films made during the classic film noir era, roughly 1941-1958 (although there may be some exceptions here and there), films I am watching for the first time. I might have a surprise or two, but I’ll mostly stick to that plan. Since I’ll be watching and commenting on at least 30 films, my reviews probably won’t go into a lot of depth, but hopefully what I’ve written will be enough to get you to at least consider each film.
If you are participating in a Noirvember challenge, please let me know. (This is much more fun if others join in.) So with that, I’ll leave you to enjoy the first day of Noirvember. Look for my first episode later today.
